God Fights Our Battles

God often reminds me that He doesn’t need my help to do His work. At times I struggle with wanting to take things into my own hands. Perhaps it’s because I feel as though the promise is taking too long and I become impatient. If I’m honest, doubt can easily enter in when my circumstance hasn’t changed or when it remains incredibly difficult. But each time God gently tugs at my heart and reminds me that He is still in control. That I need only to trust Him. The same God who created the heavens and the universe, who created every living thing, is well aware of all that concerns me and He is working everything together for my good. When I take my eyes off of the trial and focus instead on the unfailing promises of God, peace comes in and reassures me He is with me. I know it’s easy to lose focus at times and become completely distraught in the grief. But even then, we can ask Jesus to come in and meet us in the lonely, meet us in the uncertain, meet us in the frustration, meet us in the pain. One day everything will pass away. Pain will not last forever. Disappointment will not last forever. Depression and anxiety will not last forever. Even death will have an end. Sometimes we need to be reminded of this when life is overwhelming. When trouble is ever present we can remind ourselves that the Lord is a man of war and that He NEVER loses a battle! The armies of God fight for us in heavenly places, fighting on our behalf. We can still trust Him during the rage of war, through every arrow and every scheme. Jesus already overcame the world, He can overcome anything and everything we face too. In the words of my mom, “we are on the winning team”. He is with us, He is for us, He is our victory! Keep going sweet friend.

Lord, let us never forget that You are in control of every area of our lives, every aspect. You are aware of our needs, You know everything that concerns us. You promise to work everything together for our good, help us remember this when we’re hurting and broken. When we’re still waiting for the promise, give us endurance to do Your will. Increase our trust, increase our faith in You. Thank You for fighting our battles. Thank You for being our victory. You cannot lose Lord, nothing and no one is greater or stronger than You. Nothing is more powerful than Your word. Glorify Yourself in every season of our lives, yes Lord, even in this. In Jesus name, Amen.
