Hope for the Broken-hearted

Having our hearts broken is deeply painful and sometimes there are no words to describe what it feels like. It’s an overwhelming amount of tears that fall when the depths inside of us are aching within. We don’t like it and don’t want to go through it (I know I certainly don’t). We would much rather go through life with God blessing us on every side. Surely God is good and His ways towards us are good, so why so much pain, hurt, sorrow? We can look to the word of God where we were told that we would hurt in this world. Jesus said “in this world we would have trouble” or in another translation “tribulation” (John 16:33). But the verse ends with a promise of hope when Jesus says “but be of good courage for I have overcome the world”. Jesus overcame for us! He overcame all the cruelty in this world, all the heartache, all the pain. Jesus, the Son of the living God, who was perfect, blameless, holy, fully God and yet fully man, carried the sins of the entire world on His shoulders. His body was bruised and broken on our behalf, and all of the pain in this world was defeated on that cross when He said “it is finished” (John 19:30). Yes brokenness was defeated, death was defeated, and the enemy of our souls was defeated. But while I say this I know it doesn’t make it less painful when we are in the midst of it. I know too well the pain of my heart shattered into what feels like a million pieces. The pain of rejection, abandonment, disappointment, loss, grief. Friend, we will all hurt at times but that’s not the end of the story. Jesus is our hope and by faith in Him we are never hopeless. He takes our broken pieces and begins to renew, fill, and restore something beautiful for His glory. Even as I write this God is still healing my broken pieces, I say this as tears are falling from my eyes. It still hurts and it may always hurt, but He is beside me. I am never ever alone and neither are you. When we are weak, He is strong within us. Please know I’m not dismissIng the significance of your difficulty. I’m here to listen when you need someone to talk to. I’m here to walk with you and beside you. To hold you close when you need to be embraced. To wait with you when you need a moment to rest. To hold your precious hands as you hold mine. To wipe your tears as they fall from my eyes too. To encourage and remind of the glory set before us. Placing all of our brokenness at the foot of the cross where we gain our freedom. Where hope, grace, mercy, joy, peace, comfort, rest, assurance, restoration, salvation, and everlasting life (to name a few) is ours in abundance! We can put our trust in His word and in His love that never fails! We can and will overcome in Him, through Him, and for Him. Brokenness is already defeated, it does not have the final say. Keep going, Gods got this!

// prayer //

Thank you Lord that our pain is an avenue for Your love to reach deep inside, healing and speaking life over us. You take what’s broken and make us new in You. Thank You for being the only one who stays, You never leave us and You never forsake us. We declare that You alone are our healer, our helper, You alone are everything that we need. When we are brought low may we always look up to You alone. Give us eyes to see Your goodness. Thank You that there is coming a day when even death itself will die and all the suffering in this world will come to an end once and for all. Come Lord Jesus, come. You are glorified in everything, yes, glorify Yourself Jesus! Be the very comfort that we need both day and night, now and forevermore. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. -1 Peter 5:10

  2. Without pain there is no love. Yahshua (Jesus) took on the sins of the world. He loves so much that he died for the world. Pain is something I am all to familiar with in my life. I have allowed Yahweh to use my circumstances to bring about the fruit so others will know who He is. The more I give up to Him the more He is revealed. We are the clay and He is the potter. We embrace who we are in Him. He is the healer of our hearts. I wouldn’t have it any other way. God has a plan for each and everyone. Our goal is to meet Him on His glorious day. Stay firm in the Lord and know God will use you in ways you can’t imagine. He came for the broken hearted and to heal their land. May Yahweh bless and shine His countenance upon your face along the path and journey He has chosen for you. Blessings to you always! Love, Auntie Margarita – you are in my thoughts and prayers. Shalom!
