You Don’t Have to Die Today (poem)

You don’t have die today, there is hope in Jesus name

I found that out when I was there, so I am telling you the same

I learned that I could live through pain, live through sorrow, live through the tears

Though they kept falling and my heart was broken, He was closer than my fears

When I couldn’t see how things would change, His word it promised hope

When my heart was scattered in a million pieces, His grace it was my rope

It pulled me to safety, when I was alone, facing demons who begged for death

But constant was His prevailing love, His blood it paid my debt

I understand just wanting the pain to end, but there is another way

His nail pierced hands that He bore for us are reminders everyday

It’s ok to admit you are not ok, please know you are not alone

So many of us have felt this too, but there is joy found at His throne

He will never leave you, never forsake you, He is the only one who stays

Just call out to Him, please don’t give up, for you right now I pray.

But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. I cried aloud to the Lord, and he answered me from his holy hill. Selah -Psalm 3:3-4

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. -Psalm 46:1
